10 Web Sites You Should Know (in no particular order)
1. The Urban Dictionary
- Any slang term will find its way onto this site, to the point where you can subscribe to their "word of the day" e-mail list.
2. The Internet Movie Database
- Generally referred to as IMDB, this site has everything related to every TV show and movie that ever existed, and people end up wasting hours here.
3. Pandora
- On this site you can create your own custom-built radio stations based on your musical preferences, where you can even tell the program whether you did or did not like the song chosen. I can't stress enough how cool this site is.
4. TV Links
- Here you can view almost any TV show you could ever imagine in streaming media form, which for a broadband connection means almost immediately after clicking the link. You may need Firefox and their DIVX add-on for this, but it's fairly easy to figure out. They also have a movies section with fairly new titles, though some of the more recent movies are videocamera jobs.
5. The Best Page In the Universe.
- A genius named Maddox runs this site, in which he rants about practically any topic you can imagine. This is some of the funniest stuff I've ever read, but then again nothing really offends me. The main page reads: "This page is about me and why everything I like is great. If you disagree with anything you find on this page, you are wrong." He also ended up publishing his own book called The Alphabet of Manliness which is practically self-explanatory.
6. LetsSingIt
- Find any song information by having either the song title, band name, album or a part of the lyrics. It's great for people who love expressing themselves in their AIM profiles and facebook quotes through the art of song.
7. Fazed
- This is my home page, and it works a lot like my page does, listing links and explanations for why they are interesting. Very simple, very classy.
8. YouTube Downloader
- For those of you who want to keep videos from YouTube permanently on your computer, this site does it, requiring only the URL of the video.
9. DeviantART
-I use this website for most of the wallpapers to my computer. There are really some badass pictures in here that will spruce up any desktop.
10. Tucker Max
- Possibly one of the coolest people on Earth, this guy has some of the greatest stories ever told. Read even one of "the classics" and you are guaranteed to be hooked. This guy got so popular through his site that he ended up publishing a New York Times Bestseller called I Hope they Serve Beer In Hell. That book can be found in the magazine rack next to my toilet, so I wouldn't bother trying to borrow it.
